Valentine's, Boosterthon, and leprechauns- Oh, My!

We have been having so much fun!

Here is a massive picture dump for different classroom and school happenings...

Open House Math Game Night

Dental Health with Smiley O'Riley

First Boosterthon "team huddle" with GI Joel...

We won a challenge for getting the most pledges in one night- we won a class Popsicle party and got to slime Java Joe.

Thank you so much for all of the pledges and donations. The kids really enjoyed all of the fun activities and cool prizes. They also really liked the idea of helping the school and making a positive impact at Northern Hills. We couldn't have done it without all the support from friends and family- thank you!

Here are some pictures from the Boosterthon Fun Run. Our kiddos did an awesome job!
The kids voted and chose "Rockstars" as our team name :) this went along with the Boosterthon's "music festival" theme- Rockin' Town Live. Each day, the kids had a team huddle with the Boosterthon team, where they learned about character education themes.

The teachers also got into the Rockin' Town Live theme! Kindergarten tied with the office staff for best costumes at the Fun Run.

In the month of March, we also read a book called "Leprechaun on the Loose." We had a lot of fun trying to catch a mischief-causing leprechaun in our own classroom :) The kids created traps at home and brought them into class. Here are a few pictures of children with their traps:

I hope you all had a wonderful spring break! I am so excited for all the awesome things coming up in April and May :)

January in pictures and words...

We have been so busy! January has been such a fun month! We have been working on a "Moon Journal" project, where the children observe the phases of the moon and record what they see. The kiddos have been really excited to share their journals each day, and they've enjoyed learning about the moon.

Here are some pictures of different things we've been doing...

Illustrator visit from Michael P. White:

Nursing students from UCO did a lesson about germs and proper hand washing.

Celebrating 100 days of kindergarten...

Enjoying a nice day outside by organizing games...

We've been having lots of fun, but the kids have also been working really hard! Seeing their growth is the best part of my job! Here's a picture I took in between working with reading groups-
I love seeing them all working- some by themselves, some in cooperative groups, but everyone busy and engaged. Awesome stuff!

Lastly, we have a student teacher through the month of Feburuary! Her name is Ms. Hudson and she is in her last semester at Oklahoma Christian.  Please say hello and introduce yourself if you see an unfamiliar face in our room. We are so excited to have her expertise and to help her grow as a teacher!

Thanks for checking in with us! :)
